The Southern and Eastern Africa area

Welcome to the AEFE Southern and Eastern Africa Zone (ZAAO) website.

The ZAAO is one of the 16 regional zones of the Agence pour l’Enseignement Français à l’Etranger (AEFE).

We support French education in 15 countries in the region, with a focus on pedagogical innovation, continuing training and sustainable development.

The ZAAO offers excellent teaching in accordance with the requirements of the French National Education. All these accredited schools carry the universal values of tolerance, humanism, equal opportunities, intellectual curiosity and the promotion of critical thinking that characterize the schools in this dynamic, attractive and open international network.

This site has the mission of being an information tool, training and a place for exchange in the service of teachers. It contributes to strengthening the cohesion of the network by bringing together the many actors who make it live on a daily basis, whether they are education personnel or not.
